Sparkly ‘Customer Care’ Logo Brand

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Many moons ago, I was asked by a fellow Chamber Training Associate, to write a Customer Care Module on Stress Management / Relaxation implementation. I tutored Assertiveness, Improved Self Esteem and Stress Management at a local Swansea College at that time.

Handling Difficult Customers meant we looked at who was responsible for Quality in a Customer Service position? There were three sections. Telephone Sales and the Internal and External Customer. We implemented all three modules and applied the training programmes to a large, well known Company being opened in Swansea. Our hard work paid off and we won a National Training Award. Since then I have added Exceptional Customer Service training to that package.

Disarming irate, disgruntled difficult customers with a Smile and a facility to engage is more effective offline than it is online.

I am always on the look out for good examples of Customer Excellence here on ecademy. Being forever creative I also love looking at new logo branding. Amanda Vlahakis owner of Trulyace’ design is such an example.

Nothing succeeds better than a successful Business with Exceptional Customer Care. Top this with a Smile! the most beautiful business attire and you have a win/win formula. Click on these links and enjoy doing the business.

How To Alleviate Stress In Business – Especially For Milton and Company

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

It is my intention to go for that ‘va va voom sea air fix’ first thing this morning, having read all about how to make money online through popping a pill which ‘mimics being skinny and living longer!’ I am not convinced that ‘popping a pill’ will give me that same ‘va va voom zest’ that you only get when your feeling rested and kicking!

Let’s face it the osteopathic society constantly hand out newsletters that confirm walking is good for low back pain and the good news is, after much debate over how many working days are lost through LBP read Make osteopathy available on NHS’

So back to the Zest Recipe to start your day or indeed help you to unwind at the end of your day!

Powerwalking

Powerwalking is somewhere between walking and “Speed” – walking. It can be used as a means of building up to jogging or running, or continued as a means to keeping fit and reducing fat.

Fitting it in

Firstly decide on a mix of frequency, intensity, time and type that you can realistically fit into your “Power-walking” week. If you are a beginner or had a long lay off, do not power walk more than three times a week to begin with and build up frequency gradually.
Make sure you have at least one rest day per week.

Getting started

  • It is essential to warm up as it is to warm down.
  • Some “Dynamic Stretching” in the warm up & relaxation, floor stretches in the warm down.
( Will post advice on stretching techniques.)
  • You can use the same kit as for running and jogging. Again, suitable footwear is important, and basically running trainers are the best
  • Wear something reflective if out in the dark.
  • Drink plenty of water; carry some with you, so you can have a drink every 20 minutes or so.
  • Maintain an upright posture with no leaning or swaying.
  • Keep your chin up and look ahead, allowing your head to drop will lead to neck and shoulder problems.
  • Resist the temptation to overstride to the front, this can also cause problems. Concentrate on pushing off the back foot. Lengthening the back stride is more beneficial.
  • Your leading foot should contact at the heel and roll – through. Avoid slapping the whole foot down. If this is a problem check your footwear, is it flexible enough?
  • Swing your arms! keep them bent at 90 deg. at the elbow, this will give more power and speed to your walk.
  • Don’t let your elbows wave out to the side. Your hands should not cross the center line of the front of your body and raise no higher than your breasts.Right, I am off! Powering plus a skip or two and staying ahead!!!

Happy Sunday! I’m off ….> the sun is out!! What are you waiting for? The Black Eyed Peas “Boom Boom Pow”

How much fun is taken out of our business?

    Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Do we feel or are we too busy to care what made us ‘tick’ personally which is then reflected in what makes our Business ‘tick?.’

How many of you feel you are on Auto Pilot? Two business phone calls this week, so very different ( one from Spain and the other from Netherlands ) and one testimonial from Belgium for those who don’t get ecademy networking!

Like anyone and everyone I have my ‘off days’ especially when more than one emergency begins to demand my immediate ‘NOW’ attention.

My ethos is very much a preventative one, so when I am up against the ‘knee jerk’ reaction ‘mind set’ I can get bovered!! Does that sound familiar?. This feeling can be physical it can be mental and if it goes on unchecked, becomes a right ‘party pooper’ for your inner flame! Reducing it to a mere flicker. sad

Unlike some of you, I live on my own, so that means I have no one to blame if anything goes wrong and it …> sure can, as we all know. For the second week running my personal space, and ‘home office’ has been invaded and turned ‘bum side up’ for emergency repairs. ..>
Now that tests that neat little world of knowing where I put ‘things’ essential ‘things’ (for a Female it’s more than a wallet, keys and mobile phone!!) and that sets me in a spin. It tests my calm, my inner flame, it tests my being, my personal space, my thoughts even!

Then, I get two phone calls that literally catapult me out …> of my makeshift square to share another persons world! This one..> Stevie ‘Wonder’ Hall asking Can I cycle 3,000 miles to meet you please?. Boy! is he a Stevie Wonder LOL He’s quietly dynamic, while the other was positively buzzing!. I’ll leave you with his Business Story ..>
Cornelis – Be Unrealistic – Think Big

First thing at 7am, I start to write this blog, gathering my thoughts packed into a neat ‘little space’ shutting out the hustle and bustle of workers on Auto Pilot! I decided to update my profile and realised I had missed this #Sparkly testimonial from Giovanni Carbonella “But let me say this. Carolyn = THE SUN!! She tries to make everyday a happy day. Which isn’t easy at all. If you are feeling down and need some sun in your life, she is the one to get!!”

I believe that the Key to happy feelings are doing the things that make your heart sing, with the people who bring you great joy (sharing and being with people you love, like and respect”.)

T’is true ‘ if your aern’t having fun your doing it wrong!.’
Who or what are we trying to avoid?  Happy Wednesday All!   Carolyn

    Good Breathing – Power Break

    Sunday, May 16th, 2010

“Life is the breath. Therefore she who only half breathes, half lives”

Enjoy good breathing techniques…while you read even smile
Take time out of your day to relax, doing deep quality breathing exercises, listening to a relaxation tape or your favourite music, and sitting quietly.

Breathing in for the count of ten improving oxygen intake.
Hold a positive thought of ‘good warm feelings’ feeling ‘centred’ to the count of five before exhaling and releasing muscle tensions.
Here is some soothing music for today… playing it is optional …

A Room Full Of GEMS – Variety Is The Spice Of Life

    Saturday, May 15th, 2010

The true message of networking! ( An open letter I received yesterday.)

    Dear Miss Williams,

I am completely knocked out by all your information. What a terrific person to know when it is raining and overcast. You just jump out of bed as if it is high summer and get on with it.

    I feel better already.

Mind you I have been advocating what you do for some time. I used to be in Law for longer than I will dare tell you and prior to that I was in pop, because variety is the spice of life.

I am very fit for my age because I have followed your principles but I need pushing along too sometimes and who better to do it than with Miss Carolyn Williams.

    With all good wishes

    peter ellis

I am very fit for my age!”

Peter you and me both, so much so, I have people who click on my profile and mistake vigour, energy, vibrancy with trying to stay young! I can honestly say my years of energy have been on a par with the Paratroopers but with age have learn’t how to ‘tread water!’ with a Smile! smile

You Peter come across as someone who wants ..> not only to FEEL and LOOK good but you want to go a step further and recharge that ENERGY. And what is even better and healthier you don’t mind saying so and validating other GEMS!. That for me, is the true message of Networking.

What is your experience of networking both Online and Offline?

Happy “Bubbles” Friday – It’s the weekend and it’s HERE!!

    Getting To The Top

    Saturday, May 15th, 2010

Commenting on lovely Lisa Bakker’s Guniea Pig in Distress Blog prompted this Post!

Getting to the top does not have to be an up hill struggle! Some clients struggle like a fish caught on the end of a hook of their own making; thrashing this way and that and trying everything they can to detach from their pain but finding what? Nothing but more struggle.

To keep us on track, most of us need the support of people who care for us!

Linking up with another buddy in need of getting fitter, or losing some weight or getting that help to increase self confidence, to fit into those favourite Levis or get that much wanted job you applied for.

I can help and will send you the rules and you ‘coach’ and support each other via email, until you get to your desired fitness, weight, or job goal. One person lost 9lbs this way, easily and with fun. Another actually got two job offers and was able to pick the best one for him.

Many of you work away and can keep in touch this way to stay on top with support for consistency. Getting to the top by working smarter not harder.

Play a little and have some fun while peddling up the hill being Number 1. Sing along with the song..’You lift me off the ground!’..’All I wanted was to some have fun!! I ain’t letting nothing get in the way’…..

What helps you get to the top?

Quote ‘In early life, people give up their health to gain wealth…Then in later life, they give up some wealth to regain health’

Who made you smile today? Carolyn

    Curiosity Keeps Us Sparkling! ChitChat

    Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

‘Interesting Times’ …> was the text reply back from my daughter, late last night, after sharing with her and other family members my feelings watching David Cameron alongside his wife, being sworn in as our newly elected Prime Minister. Then I read Sam Borrett’s Your Children’s Future and Thomas’s Rebuilding Blog which sparked this blog….>

    Curiosity keeps us #Sparkling ChitChat.

What makes my heart sing and absorbs energy so I feel connected and alive? Why do I want to keep up with the news on both the television screen, on social media networks and daily on the front page of ecademy?

    • What makes me #smile?
    • What grabs my imagination?

Anything outside the visual” One answer from a Gas engineer, called Simon Edwards and his apprentice Joe Welsh, who are in my kitchen, servicing my gas boiler! smile

    • What do I do well and excel at?
    • Why would I want to be responsible for my future, my family and the community I live in?
    •  How can I be of use to others and in what way?

In the spirit of curiosity, slow things down to allow others and myself time to catch up! That was another ‘Gem’ given to me by Simon Edwards, a highly intuitive ‘people’s person’ engineer. Using the quiet – reflective moments, to listen to the whispers, which are deep down within us.

I don’t know all the answers, contrary to a few misguided and misunderstood beliefs, we are not meant to. Why? Being curious keeps us Sparkly!

Proud – What have you done today?  ‘Step out from the ordinary!’

    A Blog ChitChat!

    Saturday, May 8th, 2010

    Morning,

Reading my favourite bloggers on social media daily, I decided this morning, to open up this business blog conversation.

This is what I said in response to another great Blog from Bernadette.

‘I ditto Milton’s comment, another great Blog!
I have learn’t over the past year that you don’t respond to your comments?? The lovely Alan Stevens confirmed this finding, after reading one of my questions to you from one of your previous blogs. Well, I like millions, watched the election results yesterday and what evolved and it became very clear, besides the near accuracy of the exit poll and the birth of social media experts on the panel, was …

    1. Leaders have got to start talking, compromising and collaborating to help stabalise the economy for everyone in the interest of the Nation.
2, Learning to communicate and trust to find a way forward can only be done by an exchange of desire, mutual trust and will.
    3. I watched a different documentary on BBC2 later about an English Vicar, Peter Owen Jones, who I had been following (about the sametime as I’ve been following you) on how to live a simple life, by following St Francis of Assisi. Although being tough and remote it did prove that people within his community, once they understood the needs of a human being, they gave them precisely that! ie food, interaction, respect, fuel, renumeration of products services for labour he provided. He added that this practice meant, he had to swallow his pride and his ego with it!!

Point I’m making is …> to dream and achieve through inspiration comes from trusting and following and communicationg your leadership.
