Social Media ‘Belonging’

by Carolyn Williams on 22-Jul-09 11:34am

Networking through Social Media has meant I have met and made so many more friends through blogging and tweeting.
I have made several solid connections since blogging ‘Braveheart have we in the UK lost our marbles?’ and many dormant connections have surfaced since blogging ‘Do you get ecademy?’

Barbara Nugent said A big part of “getting” this group is belonging to it, as in proactive
Peter Ayers Not everyone “gets” it the same as you – as we’re all different we “get” it differently.

Diversity means we welcome the differences. We are family twinkling and tweeting!! Does that mean that we are all connected through Social Media and if so, are all these mediums inter reliant on one another? Is Linkedin reliant on Twitter, Twitter on FB and FF. I must admit belonging to a family comes top!

I can twitter for Wales ( Craig Whitney ) but I want to be able to twitter with someone from Atlanta, Chicago to catch their energy and banter!
I want to listen to entreprenuers video’s, better still meet them ‘ face to face’ to discuss those topics that matter to me.
I want to able to contribute and make a difference. I want to succeed at being the best I can, at what I do. I want to find
the medium that best suits my message, my expertise. I want to belong. There is a BBC Wales programme called ‘Belonging’ ( there would be – we invented it!!) wink Have you found your medium? Which Social Media suits your needs?

At the end of any working day isn’t this just what the Doctor ordered – ‘a shot of Motown for the Community?’

Thank you Sadie Murray x

Right, I am off for my elevenses. I look forward to our chit chat.
